Charlie McIntosh, Founder

Charlie McIntosh Ltd is home to an energetic, friendly and vibrant team offering insight, industry knowledge and extremely high standards. We work across a range of sectors globally, in partnership with fantastic clients, with whom we develop great long-term relationships. We love what we do and are determined to deliver exceptional value as part of every project we undertake.

We are not an executive search firm nor are we an agency – we’re a Talent Sourcing Company providing our clients value, costs savings and efficiency.

CM Values

Accommodating our clients hiring needs and having the ability to move quickly and adapt as the needs change.

We believe in being partners with our clients, working together to achieve the best outcome.

We pride ourselves on our ability to be clear with our clients and sharing information, candidates, and insights.

In our own team or with our clients, we believe that working together with respect and mutual support goes a long way. Whether that is making the coffee, taking a call or kind words on those hard days – we want to support and encourage each other in everything we do.

Our team

Like most people I fell into the world of recruitment.  I grew up in Buckinghamshire, with a few years living in Jamaica, before heading up to Yorkshire for University and eventually settling down in Ilkley.

My career began with a start-up internet firm during the end of the .com boom, before finding myself being drawn to the world of IT recruitment early in 2001.  After spending a number of years moving between IT recruitment and Executive Search I entered the world of Talent Research, a rapidly evolving market being driven by the growth of strategic in-house talent acquisition functions.

In January 2018 I founded my own firm, focussed on delivering high value talent sourcing solutions to support in-house recruitment teams with their senior and niche hiring.  Since then, we have built partnerships with some of the largest brands in the world as well as a number of high-growth PE back firms.  While the organisation has expanded and evolved over the years our values have remained un-changed and reflect how we work as a business, but also how we act as individuals.  It is what I am most proud of and is why we have an amazing client retention rate.

Outside of work I am heavily involved in local grassroots sport, coaching my son’s rugby and daughter’s football teams.  I also enjoy exploring the amazing countryside of Yorkshire with my family and Buddy  – our dog and also the Head of Office Entertainment!

I joined Charlie Mcintosh in October 2022.
I studied Dance & Theatre Arts at the University of Birmingham before performing for a couple of years.  I began my career in recruitment over 18 years ago and have worked in a number of roles from Resourcer to Researcher, Account Manager to Resourcing Manager.  I enjoy the variety that working in recruitment brings where no two days are the same.
I live in North Yorkshire with my husband, two daughters and Labrador.  Time outside of work is mostly spent playing Mum’s Taxi to my daughters sporting activities but when I get some free time its usually spent walking Amber, karate training, reading and heading off on adventures in our VW Campervan!

Things most people don’t know about me…

  • I performed as Baby Bear at Alton Towers Hotel & Resort
  • I obtained the Chief Scouts Award having become the first girl invested into Scouts in Staffordshire
  • I was in a Fairly Liquid advert
  • I was accepted into the Ambulance Service to train as a Paramedic
  • I can juggle fire clubs

I have worked in recruitment for the last 4 years in a 360 capacity, typically working across FMCG, both Retail and Foodservice – mid to senior level roles, across all disciplines including Sales and Marketing, Operations and Technical, HR and Finance. No role is too big or too small, I will always get my teeth stuck into it and ensure I make those all-important matches for both clients and candidates.

During the pandemic, I wanted to make a change. I knew I loved speaking to people and understanding their roles and responsibilities and really finding out what they need to be happy in their next career move. I also really enjoy building strong relationships with clients, working collaboratively, understanding their needs for now and in the future, and supporting them, be that research and insight or filling those harder to fill niche roles.

I joined Charlie McIntosh in March 2022 as it offered me everything I enjoyed doing as a consultant and more! And what an exciting year it has been so far; New office, new team members, new clients and lots of exciting opportunities and projects to work on.

In my spare time, I manage an all-women Rounders team which can get very competitive, I enjoy going to the gym, trying to keep fit although my downfall is sugary snacks, Kids and grown-ups love em’ so. If I didn’t mention Frank, he wouldn’t let me forget it. Frank is my baby; he is a house rabbit and I rescued him in 2021. He loves attention, snacks and naps…. Just like his mum.

I have moved around the country over the years, but I now find myself settled in West Yorkshire with my husband and 2 girls and loving the views (but not the weather) in God’s own country!

I joined CM in June 2022 and bring several years of Administration and Process Improvement experience with me, which I am excited to share with the team here. Everyone thinks admin is boring, but my philosophy has always been that if admin is done right, then it will help others to do their job well and this will ultimately lead to better customer service.

My role is to support the Talent Acquisition Team, maintain marketing and social media content and improve processes as well as manage the office and generally help keep the show on the road. Although I have a varied background working in Events Industry, the Charity Sector and Interior Design Industry, the key to making any job work is to follow the process and double check the details!

I am a devotee of hot yoga
My claim to fame is going to school with Matt Smith of Doctor Who fame
And for the record, its Kate, not Katie!

What keeps me going – a large mug of coffee or two.

Hi, I’m Amelia and I joined Charlie McIntosh in May 2019.

I’ve worked in the recruitment industry for 9 years, including Resourcing, Exec Search, and Research & Insight roles. My experience has covered a range of sectors including Tech, FMCG, Healthcare/Bio Tech, Engineering, Sales & Marketing and Management Consulting. I love working in recruitment, meeting new clients, introducing that perfect candidate and the learning journey we go on with new Research & Insight projects.

I live in West Yorkshire with my husband and son. Mum life is very busy but when I do get some spare time I enjoy baking, reading a good autobiography, going to the theatre and, if I’m really pushing the boat out, a trip to the spa.

Officially number two into the team at Charlie McIntosh Ltd, I like to see my role in the company as Chief of Wellbeing, while also leading on various initiatives to distract my fellow colleagues.

I’m a firm believer in hybrid working, and also balancing high levels of activity with plenty of sleep.

My favourite part of the working day is getting out on Ilkley Moor for a lunchtime stroll….although that is closely followed by keeping people company while watching them eat their lunch!
